Good quality wooden floors can last for decades with minimal maintainance. Wooden floors are easy to keep clean with a sweep or light vacuum, wet mopping should be avoided as water ingress can cause damage. Being more hygienic than carpets where dust mites fleas or dust play havoc with allergy sufferers, wood elimates the discomfort suffered by many people.
Wooden floors are available as a solid or engineered product
Solid wood is 100% natural timber cut and finished straight from the tree (not suitable for underfloor heating).
Engineered wooden floors use a thin slice of real wood fixed onto a plywood base giving greater stability (suitable over underfloor heating).
